Definitive DiagramsThis policy explains how the Definitive Diagrams app for Confluence Cloud and Jira Cloud ("the app") handles data. The app is provided by e360 ("we", "us").
Summary
The app runs entirely on Atlassian's Forge platform. It reads the diagram files or code you choose, as the person viewing them, and draws them in that person's browser. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else, and we cannot access your content.
What the app reads
- Attachments: the diagram files (.vsdx, .vsdm, .bpmn, .mmd, .puml and similar) attached to the page, blog post or issue where the app is used, and their names, sizes and versions. The app reads them with the viewing person's own Confluence or Jira permissions.
- Where it is used: the ID of the page, blog post or issue, so it can find that item's attachments.
What the app stores
- Macro settings, in the page: the chosen file's ID, name and size, or the Mermaid or PlantUML code you typed, and the height you picked. Confluence stores these as part of the page, like any macro's settings.
- A cache, in the reader's browser: pages of diagrams the reader has already viewed, so repeat views are fast. The cache lives in the browser's own storage for the app, keyed by site, file and version. It is capped at 200 MB and drops files unused for 30 days. Before using it, the app checks with Atlassian that the reader can still see the file and that it hasn't changed. Clearing the browser's site data removes it.
- A preference, in the reader's browser: in Jira, which file the reader last picked on an issue.
The app stores nothing on servers: no files, no settings and no personal data. It doesn't store names, email addresses or account IDs.
Where it runs
The app runs on Atlassian's Forge platform and in the reader's browser. It makes no network requests outside Atlassian, and it is eligible for Atlassian's "Runs on Atlassian" program. Diagrams are never sent to Microsoft.
Retention and deletion
The browser cache is emptied as described above, and anyone can clear it by clearing their browser's site data. Macro settings stay in your pages until you remove the macro. When the app is uninstalled, your files stay attached to their pages and issues.
Cookies and analytics
The app sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking. This website uses no tracking either.
